Limited Edition Giclee Prints
Many of Cat’s unique and much-sought-after original oils are more affordable as Giclee fine art prints. These limited edition, high-quality prints are signed and numbered to maintain their value and certify their authenticity, and are available on paper or canvas media.
What is Giclee?

“Giclee” Is French for spraying ink. The process begins in a printer’s studio where each oil painting is scanned by a 320 mega pixel camera, the process takes 30 minutes. The scanned data is collected and then the proofing process begins. Under the artist’s supervision, a color expert accesses the digital art data and balances it perfectly to the original oil painting. Once the color is matched the prints are created using the highest quality archival inks applied to 100% cotton rag paper or canvas. Nearly any size of print may be ordered. The artist approves each fine art print, titles it and then signs and numbers it.
Sizes and media

Giclee prints can be ordered in virtually any size to fit your needs and taste. Because each original oil has a different size canvas, the limited edition print will retain the width/height ratio (the relationship between the length and height of the image) of the original canvas. For this reason, it may not be possible for you to order a specific height AND width of your piece. Rather, the dimension you give us (height or width) will determine the other dimension of the piece.
Giclee prints can be ordered on paper or, for a slightly higher fee, on canvas with top coating protection.

How much does a Giclee Limited Edition Print cost?

Because Giclee prints are custom-ordered art pieces and come in different media and customizable sizes, it is nearly impossible to have a price list available.

For reference purposes, here are some of our most common sizes and finishes:
The Giclee Quality

The quality of the giclee print rivals traditional silver-halide and gelatin printing processes and is commonly found in museums, art galleries, and photographic galleries. The giclee printing process provides better color accuracy than other means of reproduction.
The Market of Giclee Fine Art prints

Numerous examples of Giclee prints can be found in New York City at the Metropolitan Museum, the Museum of Modern Art, and the Chelsea Galleries. Recent auctions of giclee prints have fetched $10,800 for Annie Leibovitz, $9,600 for Chuck Close, and $22,800 for Wolfgang Tillmans (April 23/24 2004, Photographs, New York, Phillips de Pury & Company.)
